Commission only marketing

You pay your reps on commission. Why is your marketing on retainer?

Every other line on your P&L that sells for you only gets paid when it produces. Marketing is the last one still billing you either way. We fixed that: we get paid commission when you can actually run an estimate.

Retainer vs. commission

One of these gets paid for results

You already built your company around paying for outcomes. Your closers, your canvassers, your subs — all of them earn when work gets sold. Then there’s the agency.

How you pay a sales rep

  • Paid when they sell something
  • No sale, no cost to you
  • Their upside is tied to your revenue
  • You can see exactly what each dollar bought
  • Underperformance shows up immediately

Monumental sits in this column. We are paid commission on every estimate you actually get to run. If we don’t produce, we don’t get paid.

How an agency bills you

  • Paid on the first of the month
  • No result, same invoice
  • Their upside is tied to your retainer
  • “Brand awareness” line items you can't audit
  • Underperformance takes two quarters to prove

You would never hire a closer on a flat salary with no quota. That is exactly what a marketing retainer is.

How commission only works

Four steps, one billable moment

01

We produce the creative

Ads are built from our licensed content library and your real jobs — not stock photos and not a template your competitor down the road is also running.

02

We run the media

Our buyers are in the campaigns day to day: testing, killing losers, scaling winners. You cover ad spend, we cover everything it takes to turn it into estimates.

03

Our team works the leads

Every lead is contacted fast, qualified on scope, timeline and decision-maker, and pushed to a real appointment. Your office staff does not touch this.

04

We get paid when you run the estimate

The appointment lands on your calendar confirmed. If you get to run the estimate, we invoice the commission. If you don't, you pay nothing.

Estimates you actually run are billable. Cancellations and no-shows are not.

Two ways to run it

Performance Social or Performance Max

Same commission structure in both. The only question is how many channels you want us feeding your calendar.

Meta only. Commission only.

Performance Social

MetaGoogleGLSASEOInbound calls

You bring nothing. We produce the creative from our licensed content library, buy the media, work every lead with our own team, and put confirmed appointments on your calendar. We only get paid commission on the ones you can actually run an estimate on.

$3,000 setup

Then per estimate you actually run

Every channel. Still commission only.

Performance Max

MetaGoogleGLSASEOInbound calls

Everything in Performance Social plus the entire Google side, Local Services Ads, full SEO executed by our team, and inbound call handling off your website. One roof, one number, still paid on performance.

$3,000 setup

$2,000/mo floor — commissions count toward it first

Past $2,000 in commissions, the Google stack is free

The value stack

$5,000 guaranteed, or $2,000 earned

Buy these services separately and you write the same check every month whether they produce or not. Performance Max delivers all of it with a $2,000 floor your own commissions pay down first.

Buying it piece by piece

SEO retainer$2,000/mo

Content, links, GBP

Meta ads agency$2,500/mo

Management fee only

Google / GLSA management$500/mo

On top of ad spend

Total, guaranteed$5,000/mo

$60,000 a year before a single estimate gets run.

vs

Monumental Performance Max

SEO retainerIncluded

Content, links, GBP

Meta ads agencyIncluded

Management fee only

Google / GLSA managementIncluded

On top of ad spend

Monthly floor$2,000/mo

And the floor is not extra — commissions count toward it first. At a $100 commission, the first 20 estimates you run satisfy it.

Past $2,000 in commissions

Clear the floor and the entire Google stack is free

The $2,000 floor is not a retainer sitting on top of commissions — your commissions pay it down first. So the month you run enough estimates to bill past $2,000, you have already covered it, and Google Ads, Local Services, full SEO and inbound call handling ride along at no additional cost. You are still only paying for estimates you actually ran.

Under $2,000

You top up to the $2,000 floor. Still less than half the piecemeal retainer.

At $2,000

Floor is satisfied by commissions alone. Nothing extra invoiced.

Past $2,000

Every dollar is commission on a run estimate. Google, GLSA and SEO cost you nothing.

At a $100 commission that is 20 estimates run. Anything past number 20 and the $3,000/mo of Google, GLSA and SEO work is riding for free.

Get qualified appointments

Same channels. $3,000/mo less guaranteed spend.

How we get paid

Our commission on every estimate you run

Treat us like an outside sales crew you never have to manage. We knock, we qualify, we set it, and we earn a commission when you get in the door and run the estimate. The commission is set by your vertical — a roofing estimate is worth more to you than an epoxy estimate, so it’s worth more to us. Nothing else changes.

We earn, per estimate you actually run
Epoxy / concrete coatings$65 commission
House painting$105 commission
Cabinet refinishing$105 commission
Cabinet refacing~$180 commission
Kitchen & bath remodeling$200 commission
Siding$200 commission
Roofing$200 commission
  • Ad spend is client-funded and paid to the platforms — $3,000/mo minimum, $5,000–$10,000 recommended.
  • Three-month mutual term so the accounts have time to learn, then month to month.
  • One partner per service area — we only take one company per market, so we're picky about who we work with.
  • One-time $3,000 setup covers creative production, tracking, CRM and calendar build.

Assumptions

  • Everything is shown as a range for house painting: the strong end uses our client-average media cost of $60 per appointment set, the low end uses our most conservative figure of $175. Real accounts land somewhere in between depending on market and season.
  • Performance Max assumes 25% more appointment volume than Meta alone, since Google, GLSA, SEO and inbound calls are added.
  • Performance Max includes a $2,000/mo floor; appointment commissions count toward it before anything extra is billed.
  • Ad spend goes directly to the ad platforms. The one-time $3,000 setup is included in year one only.
  • These are estimates based on our client averages, not a guarantee of results.
